Brief
In late 2019, Sounds True started to uncover a challenge: many of the online courses they create incur high production expenses, do not focus on motivational components, and the transformational e-learning industry has caught up with or surpassed many of their offerings. The solution was to create a product line called Transformation Labs.
Effectively creating and marketing a new product line requires in-depth research and high-level brand developement. Sounds True's long-standing reputation, access to established teachers, technology and expertise to deliver, and skills to create motivational learning experiences were the roots for this project. These roots helped me to successfully design a refined and intricate brand, a unique but usable web experience, a highly effecient template system, and engaging marketing materials for not only the initial launch campaign, but the evergreen nature of the product line.
Process
The design system I created represents the shift that Transformation Labs aim to provide. The visual tools defined invoke feelings of clarity, value, and accessibility. De-saturated colors create an approachable atmosphere, while a modern twist on nature imagery contributes to a leading-edge aesthetic. Specialized treatment of teacher photos presents a consitent look throughout all assets, and clearly identified brand standards ensure cohesion throughout all channels.
In addition to the front-facing designs, I spent countless hours developing easy to use templates and guidlines to support future production of the labs, addressing one of the core project goals of reducing upfront costs. The templated designs allow for other designers to easily contribute to the launch of new labs and implement content effeciently.
