Brief
For Jason Silva, to be human is to have a taste for peak experiences and flow states. For his 11 chapter online course, Becoming Awestruck, I was tasked with creating a brand and design system inspired by his never ending quest for awe, and his desire to share that with the world.
Jason is a “wonder junkie”—someone who not only appreciates the glory available in the everyday but who also seeks out awe as a personal path. In the course he guides you through video teachings, prompts for journaling and introspection, and his signature “Shots of Awe”—free-form video presentations introducing you to mind-opening new concepts and directing you toward your own definitions of the sublime.
Process
The design system for Becoming Awestruck is inspired by Jason Silva and his passion for the universe. The natural imagery throughout the brand is manipulated, reflected and emphasied. Whimsical vectors are intended to add fantasy and magic to otherwise straight-forward photos, inspiring a sense of awe and wonder throughout all graphics. Unique typography choices, specialized buttons, and an inspired color pallete support Jason’s desire to strike awe through the content presented in this course.
